Once the place we kept the farm horses, The Stable has been stylishly transformed, by local craftsmen, to become the beautiful place it is today. Its luxury modern bathrooms and kitchen have been combined with the original character and to that we have added pieces of antique furniture and vintage finds to give it a feeling of comfort and relaxation. The addition of the snug Shepherd's Hut, again, skillfully built by local craftsmen, gives a real experience of rural life on our idyllic sheep farm. Guests often describe it as a piece of heaven they find difficult to leave.
Living Room
Comfortable sofas, a super wood burner, TV/DVD, radio/blue tooth speaker/CD player/iPod dock, wi-fi connection, a second dining area and views of the countryside are a contrast to the original use of this relaxing space. We've left a few reminders of the four farm cart horses that were the last inhabitants!
Kitchen
The kitchen/breakfast room is fully equipped with all you will need – from creating dinner parties to a quick breakfast on the run. There’s a state of the art oven/microwave/grill and a full size oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, plenty of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery & glasses. We've also included a few nostalgic touches, such as Granny's china tea set.
Downstairs loo
with loo and wash hand basin
Utility Room
Just the place to leave dirty boots – and dogs - heated for the little darlings of course!
All the necessities are hidden away here – washing machine, tumble dryer, boot rack, sink, etc
Bedroom 1
Spacious and light with a king size bed and great en suite shower room, with walk-in rainstorm shower and wc. Dual views – one across to the Black Mountains and another catching the morning sun down to the Golden Valley. There’s plenty of room for a child’s guest bed or cot. A TV in case you want to watch a late night movie!
Bedroom 2
A bright, light twin-bedded room with a high window overlooking the old farmyard - it has an en suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and retro style Roberts’ radio.
Outside
The large enclosed garden has the most wonderful views down into the valley and across to the Black Mountains, with sitting and dining areas to enjoy the peaceful scenery. A firepit is provided. The large gravelled parking area has room for several cars.
Granary Games Room
Just across the yard, with ping pong, pool, darts, table football and other bar games, it is great fun for children and adults - many ping pong battles go on into the evening!!
The traditional Shepherd’s Hut, which is nestled between two ancient oaks in the garden, has been skilfully created to our specifications by lovely local craftsmen. It’s 6’3” x 12’ – has an oak floor, and a fitted double bed, which converts to a sofa for the daytime. Although the high levels of sheeps’ wool insulation mean that the hut is always cosy, we couldn’t resist a little wood burning stove. Just right for toasting and a brew! The hut is just a few steps from the door to the main accommodation and is for exclusive use of The Stable guests.
