Making life easier.........

We think Cothill is a special place with a relaxed, informal atmosphere and we would like you to feel that way too.  We are here to help you enjoy your holiday, so here are a few ideas and if you have ideas of your own - just let us know.

When you arrive at Cothill, it will always be welcoming for you.  Little touches, such as vases of garden flowers, soft lighting and cosy, warm heating in the colder months; ingredients for hot drinks after a long journey and of course homemade cakes, all make you feel instantly relaxed and at home. There will be a welcome selection of local food, drink and homemade preserves and if our girls are willing, some fresh eggs from our ducks and hens.  We provide store cupboard ingredients, soap, loo rolls and everything you need for the dishwasher and washing machine.  Fluffy towels and all bedding are included - even for your dog!

If you are coming a long way and would like a simple supper simmering in the oven for your arrival, or a fully catered meal, this can all be provided by us.  The menu and prices vary with the seasons and many of the ingredients are grown here on the farm, or sourced from one of the many fantastic local producers.  Alternatively, we can fill the freezer with homemade meals, cakes and treats, to make your holiday even more relaxing.  Specific requirements and diets are no problem - just let us know.  If you are celebrating a birthday let us make you an indulgent pudding or delicious birthday cake to celebrate.

We can recommend lots of great places to eat in the area, from local pubs to French restaurants and are happy to book them for you.

Maid service & Baby Sitting

Want to be completely indulged on your break with us?  Then maid service is for you.  Come back to made beds with freshly plumped pilows, last night's washing up done and the house clean and tidy.  We are also able to offer baby sitting for your little darlings by prior arrangement.

Pampered or active...you chose

If you are looking to be pampered during your stay, why not have some relaxing treatments from our fully qualified beauty therapist, in the Barn - great for a girlie weekend.

There are lots of activities nearby for the more active of you.  Canoeing, horse riding, quad biking, paragliding, mountain boarding, paint balling and lots more are all available locally and we are happy to arrange this for you.  If you are looking for an active break, tell us what you would like to do and we will be very happy to make recommendations of where to go.

The farm

There is always lots going on at the farm and depending on when you are visiting, you may see new lambs being born, or sheep being shorn - admire the speed (and physique)! of the shearers.  Watch as huge bales of silage are wrapped up for storing until winter.  You may be lucky to be here when chicks and ducklings are hatching.

The farm is a haven for wildlife - buzzards in abundance; curlews and maybe a red kite gliding on the thermals.  In the field next to Cothill Barn is a seasonal pond. This year we have had visits from wild ducks, geese and even a swan.  Foxes are regular visitors - not very kind to our lovely hens - and badgers sometimes too.
